The Hi-Desert Classic began in 1995 with
8 teams competing for the inaugural title. From its humble
beginnings, it has grown to see highly ranked & state
championship teams compete to be the best in the desert. In
the first 3 years of existance, the HDC was held in 29
Palms. In 1998 it moved to what was thought to be its
permanent home located on the golf course of Blue Skies
Country Club. However, one thing is for certain, nothing is
permanent in the YV. The golf course underwent a complete
makeover and has not been finished. So in 2007 the race
moved to Machris Park and the most challenging of the 3
courses was born.
Machris is located along the foothills of Joshua Tree
National Park. It has one of the most pristine views of the
hi-desert area and provides a great course for an early
season competition. So come on out to the desert and test
your will on the hills of the HDC in the YV!
