Welcome to the DeAnza League

The DeAnza League is made up of schools located in and around the Inland Empire. Although our league is traditionally made up of smaller schools, we have had our share of state & national caliber runners challenge for individual & team titles.

Schools such as Big Bear, Banning, Beaumont, Desert Hot Springs, Desert Mirage, Rim of the World, Serrano, Great Oak, Chapparal, Cathedral City, Notre Dame-Riverside, San Jacinto, Twenty-nine Palms, & Yucca Valley have all been a part of this storied league.

Currently, Big Bear, Desert Hot Springs, Desert Mirage, Twenty-nine Palms, & Yucca Valley make up the competition.

As of late, the DeAnza League has won 3 team state titles & 2 CIF titles, thanks to the outstanding running of the Big Bear Boys. The league has also seen Yucca Valley girls place 15th, 9th, 6th, & 10th in the state from 2003 to 2006. Yucca's Boys have placed 7th & 14th in the state in 1996 & 2000

Individually, Ryan & Chad Hall have won state titles, with Chad winning the National High School Championship in 2006. Ryan placed 3rd in 2000. Currently Ryan Hall is our nations top marathon prospect and placed 10th in 2008 Olympics. Most recently, he placed 3rd in the 2009 Boston Marathon . GO RYAN!!!!! From Yucca Valley, Mike Crouch is beginning to distinguish himself as a National Class distance runner. Over this past season, he placed 3rd in the Nation at the Div 2 Cross Country Championships. As indoor track rolled around, he won the National Championship in the 5000 Meters, clocking the distance in a time of 14:12. He backed that up with a National Championship in the 1500 Meters,(outdoors), in 3:49. He has since gone on to run 13:40 & 3:45 respectively.
